LOGAN – February is National Heart Awareness Month, and Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital is inviting the community to learn more about heart health at a free Healthy Heart Fair. The event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the hospital’s Heart and Lung Center, located at 1400 North 500 East in Logan.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States and affects people of all backgrounds. Doctors say the good news is that small lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

The Healthy Heart Fair is free and open to the public. Attendees will have access to several helpful services and educational opportunities. Medical staff will also offer free blood pressure checks and explain what healthy numbers look like and why they matter.

Nutrition experts will share information about heart-healthy eating, including what foods to look for and easy recipes to try at home.

Doctors at Logan Regional Hospital encourage everyone to “know your numbers,” including blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels.

As part of National Heart Month, Intermountain Health is also offering a free online Healthy Heart Quiz and additional resources. The quiz can be found at connect.intermountainhealth.org/heart.
