LOGAN — A 19-year-old Providence man, who was previously convicted of sexually abusing a woman, has been arrested again on similar allegations. Hunter B. Jorgensen was booked Thursday into the Cache County Jail.

According to an arrest report, Logan City Police officers were contacted by the alleged victim earlier this year. She described being raped by Jorgensen, once in February and previously in October 2021.

The woman said she had been in a consensual relationship with Jorgensen in the past, but the two incidents occurred at times when she refused his advances and told him “no.” One occurred when she was sick at home, and the other time when she was heavily intoxicated.

The alleged victim showed officers several text messages from Jorgensen after the assaults, where he supposedly apologized. One message read, “I hope I didn’t make you feel used or anything.”

The crimes allegedly occurred while Jorgensen was on probation.

In 2019, he pleaded guilty to forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. Instead of any jail time, he was sentenced to 48-months probation and ordered to participate in sex offender therapy.

Police questioned Jorgensen during the investigation. He claimed his relationship with the woman was always consensual.

Jail records show Jorgensen was booked on two felonies of rape and one felony for violating his probation. He is currently being held without bail.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
