According to arrest paperwork, Logan City Police officers received a call from an individual who claimed two of their deceased father’s debit cards had been used to make multiple purchases. Bank statements showed the transactions began the day of the father’s death and continued for about a month.

Police report that in some cases, Broadhead claimed to be the deceased man’s child while making the purchases.
On Dec. 4, law enforcement served a search warrant to Broadhead and Markey’s home. They found the newly purchased appliances along with several of the deceased man’s financial transaction cards.
According to jail records, Broadhead and Markey were booked on suspicion of a pattern of unlawful activity and unlawful possession and use of a financial card. Formal charges are pending in Logan’s 1st District Court.
