LOGAN — Emergency crews were called to a paragliding crash Monday near Young Ward. The accident was reported around 11 a.m. near 2900 W. 600 South.
Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen said the paraglider was flying over a field when he allegedly lost control, crashing to the ground. The 29-year-old man was reportedly from Boulder, Utah.
The victim had several fractured bones. Paramedics transported him to Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital, where he was later flown by medical helicopter to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.
Jensen said it is suspected that the paraglider lost control of his equipment just prior to the crash. Two juveniles witnessed the incident and told investigators that it appeared to be an accident.
