LOGAN – City officials here have announced that work is about to resume on the pedestrian crossing under Main Street later this month.

In preparation for that effort, which will create an underpass at 600 South, city and state officials will host a Utah Department of Transportation Open House on Wednesday, Mar. 18 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The meeting — intended to inform members of the public what to expect in terms of community impacts from the underpass project — will be held in the Community Room of the Logan City Hall.

“We anticipate a robust discussion at that meeting,” according to spokesperson for project’s the UDOT contractor, “as moderate to heavy impacts are expected on Main Street for up to two months before the project is estimated to be completed this summer.”

In September, of 2025, UDOT officials predicted that construction impacts during the second phase of the underpass project would include variable lane closures on Main Street, with traffic often reduced to one lane in each direction.

State officials expected most of the project work to be accomplished during daylight hours Monday through Friday, with some nighttime and weekend work as well.

UDOT encouraged motorist to use 1000 West and other alternate routes during peak traffic hours.

All members of public likely to be impacted by the project are invited to attend the UDOT gathering on Mar. 18.

The Logan City Hall is located at 290 North, 100 West in Logan.
