LOGAN — In her monthly appearance talking business on KVNU’s For the People program on Thursday, Cache Valley Chamber president and CEO Jamie Andrus said their next Leadership Luncheon will be held a week earlier and address economic uncertainty.
“Coming up Tuesday, which is our regular monthly lunch, it’s usually on the 3rd Tuesday but because of Thanksgiving, this month it’s next Tuesday, November 14th at the Riverwoods. We are having a panel, brought to us by the SBA (Small Business Administration) and the Small Business Development Center. And the title of the content is ‘Bridging Economic Uncertainty-Strategies for Thriving in High Interest Times,’” explained Andrus.
It will feature Marla Trollan of the Utah SBA. Andrus said the chamber aims to be a resource for local businesses.
“No matter the size of your business I think you can find some value in all of our events,” Andrus added. “We just came off of a fabulous women’s conference with the most incredible speaker, a great day, we raised some money for women’s scholarships, just fantastic. So, yeah, we’ve got our leadership lunch coming up, we do have monthly Women in Business meetings as well. We have a lot of options plus our resource page, (it) always has a lot of resources.”
Recently, the chamber, along with the Box Elder chamber, sponsored the NUME conference, which stands for Northern Utah Manufacturing Excellence. Andrus said it was well attended.
“I believe we had over 150 manufacturers there, a lot of resources from around the state. And this is unique, we are the only chamber who has a manufacturing arm, a manufacturing committee, a manufacturing organization, if you will, under their umbrella,” said Andrus. “We’re kind of a standard for the state for this manufacturing. But manufacturing is very, very important to our economy here in Cache Valley. We have a lot of manufacturers here and over the hill in Box Elder.”
You can get more information at CacheChamber.com and Andrus said they do answer their phones, so you can call them, too, at (435) 752-2161.
