NORTH LOGAN – Area medical professionals are building a new modern medical facility in North Logan, located at 360 E. 2200 N. Owen Mortensen, a Logan-based artist and art consultant, envisioned some unique art for the entrance of the Three Peaks building. The facility can house up to 14 medical practices.

Provo based artist Havoc Hendricks paints the mural at Three Peaks medical building on March 25, 2022.

Mortensen solicited the help of Provo mural artist Havoc Hendricks to provide the artwork for the main entrance of the 46,748 square foot, three story building.

“They hired me to conceive and create art for their massive two-story entry wall,” Mortensen said. “Because of the building’s name sake, (it’s) inspired by the mountains that surround our valley.”

Mortensen hired Hendricks, a full-time Provo-based artist, to paint the minimalist mountain mural on a 1,000 square foot wall.

“He told me that was the most detailed mural he has ever created,” Mortensen said. “After painting the silhouette of the mountains, he painted line upon line a three-dimensional topographic effect.”

The artist used a large ketchup bottle to apply each line of paint. The result of his painstaking work was a two-dimensional painting that appears to be three-dimensional.

In the coming weeks Mortensen will add some tumbleweed pendants that will hang from the ceiling.

The artwork will add a modern look to a state-of-the-art medical complex housing a number of healthcare professionals.

The medical facility was the vision of Dr. Jeffery Bennion and Dr. James Blotter who purchased the ground eight years ago with the intent of making an office building, said Megan Lundgren, Dr. Bennion’s office manager.

“Other providers approached them about wanting to be involved in the space,” she said. “The planning took off from there and exactly two years ago they held a groundbreaking in September of 2020.”

Three Peaks medical building is slated to open in June 2022.

They estimate the building will be completed in June of 2022.

“The steel frame building is designed to withstand an earthquake, constructed with seismic joints designed to be replaced if ever needed,” Lundgren said. “The building is also very energy efficient.”

They used as much local talent to build the clinic as they could find.

Our contractors have exceeded our expectations and have been wonderful to work with,” Lundgren said. “We plan to have a grand opening sometime this summer.”

Lundgren has been asked to be the building manager.

The complex will house several medical and dental professionals and will include Cache Valley Pharmacy, Cache Valley Imaging, Fortitude Couples and Family Therapy and more.

There is still one office available for someone needing space.
