LOGAN — A motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash east of Mendon, Monday night, July 15. The accident was reported just after 9:15 p.m. near 4822 W. 600 South.
According to emergency radio traffic, the motorcycle was found by passing motorists. The rider had been thrown from the motorcycle and was found unconscious. He reportedly had a pulse and was breathing.
Cache County Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics arrived on the scene. They initially considered requesting a medical helicopter but decided to transport the rider to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance.
According to reports, the motorcyclist had critical injuries. As the ambulance was travelling to the hospital, paramedics had to begin performing CPR.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi said investigators are unsure what caused the crash. Deputies don’t believe any other vehicles were involved.
The man was reportedly later flown to a Salt Lake area hospital. His condition and identity have not been released, pending notification of family.
