SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Workforce Services will host a statewide virtual job fair Thursday, March 5, connecting job seekers with more than 50 employers offering over 2,500 open positions across Utah.
The no-cost online event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and feature employers hiring in health care, education, aerospace and defense, construction, hospitality, government and other industries.
“The virtual job fair is a great way to expand your professional network and lead you to the next step in your career,” said Liz Carver, Workforce Development Division director. “We encourage all job seekers to pre-register and get ready to connect with potential employers.”
Participants can log in from a computer or smartphone after pre-registering at jobs.utah.gov and signing in to “my Job Search.” Once inside the platform, job seekers will see a digital floor plan with rows of employer booths. Clicking on a booth provides access to company profiles, job listings and social media links.
Attendees can also start live chats with hiring representatives and share resumes directly through the system. Employers may schedule interviews, conduct one-on-one video chats and, in some cases, make job offers during the event.
Workforce Services encourages participants to upload a current resume and a professional photo to their profile before the fair begins.
To help job seekers prepare, the department will offer two online workshops the day before the event at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In addition to the virtual job fair, the department lists approximately 25,000 open positions statewide at jobs.utah.gov. Job seekers may also visit local employment centers for in-person assistance. Employers interested in participating in future no-cost job fairs can contact their local workforce development specialist through the department’s website.
