FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho — An Idaho man died late Saturday night following a single-vehicle crash near Preston.
Idaho State Police report the crash occurred at 11:03 p.m., near milepost 11.2 along US-91.
A 22-year-old man from American Falls was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado northbound, when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. It came to rest on its side.
Police report the driver of the Chevy was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
There were no other passengers inside the truck. No other vehicles were involved.
The roadway was blocked for approximately 3 hours while emergency crews cleared the crash scene.
Police did not say what caused the truck to veer off the road. The accident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
