May 7, 1932 — February 9, 2024 (age 91)

Our loving Father and Grandfather, Lyman Jensen, passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 9, 2024, due to complications from a fall. He was welcomed with open arms by his wife, Marianne, his daughters, Melinda and April, his parents, siblings and many others.

On May 7, 1932, Lyman was born in Lawrence, Utah to his parents, Lucile Jensen and Lyman Jensen. He was the oldest of seven children. He grew up helping his Grandma and Grandpa Jensen and Grandpa Staker on their farms and would often talk about helping with milking, feeding, and taking care of the animals. He graduated from North Emery High School in 1950.  Due to the possibility of being drafted, he decided to join the Navy and left for San Diego in November of 1951. While stationed at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in California, he met Marianne Richards and they were married for Time and all Eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 14, 1954. They had six beautiful children: Melinda, Douglas, Scott, Georgianne, Peter, and Christopher.

While in the Navy, Lyman went to Aviation Electronics School. He then went on to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. After many different employment opportunities, he was asked to come work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to work in their new computer department. Lyman retired after 25 years of service for the Church. After retirement, he and Marianne moved to Paradise, Utah to build their dream home. Marianne passed away suddenly in 2002. For the next 22 years he waited patiently, to be reunited with her. He filled his life with family, gardening, church service, and helping others. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved them all dearly.

Lyman served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ in many capacities, as a ward clerk, home minister, and friend. He attended the temple regularly and passed along into the next life with a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his Children, Brent (Melinda) Arnold, Douglas (Lynn) Jensen, Scott Jensen, Georgianne Jensen, Peter (Karrie) Jensen, Christopher (April) Jensen, Paul (Barbara) Danielson, his younger sisters Janice (John) Gute and Glenda Jensen, 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marianne, daughters Melinda (Brent) Arnold and April (Chris) Jensen, parents, and four of his siblings.

Many thanks to Atlas Homecare and Hospice and Sunshine Terrace Memory Care for taking care of dad.
