LOGAN – Officials will host the Logan’s annual “Trunk or Treat” event for local youngsters on Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31.
The event is slated for 3 to 5 p.m. in the east parking lot of the Logan Police Department.
A trunk-or-treat is a Halloween event where participants decorate their car trunks in a secure location and children go from car to car to collect candy and other treats.
Its similar to traditional trick-or-treating, but in a more controlled and community-oriented environment.
This tradition was started to provide a safer and more family-focused way for children to celebrate Halloween, especially in communities where traditional trick-or-treating may not be feasible or safe.
The “Trunk or Treat” is being jointly sponsored by the Logan City Fire, the Logan City Police, the City Public Works and the City Parks & Recreation departments.
The LCPD east parking lot is located at 62 West, 300 North in Logan.
