Water main break near 100 E. 1400 North in Logan, Aug. 1, 2022
LOGAN — A section of road in Logan is partially reopen again after it was closed Sunday due to a large water main break left the street damaged.
The break occurred in the area of 1400 North and 100 East during the early afternoon hours.
Photos and video showed water shooting across the street and into the Cache Valley Mall parking lot at one point. The line was shut down so crews could make repairs.
Residents and businesses east of Main Street at 1400 North had their water service shut off temporarily.
A video from the scene showed water spraying from a hole in the road near the sidewalk in an arch that reached the other side of the street.
The section of road was partially reopened about two hours later.
Officials are unsure what caused the rupture at this time. They will continue working on the road this week to repair the break and fix the road surface.
