LOGAN — Taking down trees may be a sore subject in Logan nowadays, but surely not when we’re taking about dry and dying Christmas Trees.
It may be a little premature, but the city’s tree-cycling drop sites opened for business on Dec. 15 and will remain open until Jan. 16, 2026.
So when residents’ Christmas Trees start to look less like holiday icons and more like Charlie Brown’s wilted Christmas Tree in the familiar 1965 cartoon, the city will be ready to recycle them at no cost.
The drop sites accept all live trees, but local residents must first remove any lights, tinsel or ornaments from the trees and, of course, their stands.
Anyone with questions about the tree-cycling program can call 435-716-9755.
City officials say that the tree-cycling drop sites will be set up in ten locations through the Logan metropolitan area.
Those drop sites will be located at the Logan Aquatic Center/Skate Park at 500 South, 600 West; Bridgerland Park at 900 North, 100 West; the Spectrum on the Utah State University campus at 840 East, 1000 North; Johansen Park at 850 East, 100 North; Pioneer Park at 150 East, 100 South; and Gibbons Mount Logan Park at 1400 East, 150 South.
Christmas trees can also be dropped off at the south side of the West Parking Lot of Logan Regional Hospital at 1300 North, 500 East; the south side of Adam’s Park at 475 East, 600 North; south of the roundabout at Lundstrom Park at 1350 North, 1720 East; and in the south parking lot of the Logan Community Recreation Center at 300 South, 100 West.
