LOGAN — A 24-year-old Logan man has been arrested on suspicion of barging into a convenience store and threatening an employee with a baseball bat. Beau W. Eliason was booked Tuesday into the Cache County Jail, where he is being held on $10,500 bail.

According to an arrest report, Logan City Police officers were called to the convenience store on Sunday, where Eliason had allegedly disregarded a trespass order. He refused to speak or meet with law enforcement when later contacted by phone.

After police attempted to question Eliason, he allegedly returned to the store and started yelling at the employee for calling the police on him. He yelled and shouted at the employee in front of customers, while holding an aluminum baseball bat. He then left the store, stealing a protein bar.

Police report the confrontation could be seen and heard on surveillance video.

Eliason was contacted again Tuesday by law enforcement and arrested. He allegedly threatened officers as they were booking him into jail, saying they had what was coming for them.

Eliason was arraigned during a virtual hearing in 1st District Court Wednesday afternoon, appearing by video from jail. Prosecutors charged him with burglary, a third-degree felony; and retail theft and criminal trespassing, class B misdemeanors. He was assigned a public defender and ordered to appear again in court April 6.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
