LOGAN — A 21-year-old Logan man already on probation for drug possession charges has been arrested for allegedly trying to solicit a minor for naked pictures, according to law enforcement.
Kennan James Brower made an initial appearance Friday in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, a first-degree felony.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, agents with the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce received a cyber-tip in April from a social networking app. The company reported a user, later identified as Brower, had attempted to entice or solicit a minor.
Law enforcement reviewed the account and found messages between Brower and a 17-year-old girl. During the conversation, he offered to pay $75 for naked pictures of herself. Other messages showed him offering to pay older women for similar nude photos.
Logan City Police officers questioned Brower about the messages. He reportedly would not answer any questions. He later invoked his right to an attorney, ending the questioning.
During Friday’s court appearance, Brower was ordered to remain in jail and appear again in court Oct. 27.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
