LOGAN — The Logan Downtown Alliance has been named a 2025 Affiliate Main Street America program, a national recognition of its efforts to revitalize and enhance Logan’s historic downtown.

The designation signals that Logan is part of a network of more than 350 communities committed to preservation-based economic development using the Main Street Approach™, which focuses on transformation strategies, community engagement, and measurable impact.

“Main Street America is proud to recognize this year’s 351 Affiliate Main Street America programs for their commitment to building strong and vibrant communities,” said Erin Barnes, president and CEO of Main Street America in a release. “Their tireless efforts show what’s possible when engaged leaders work together to shape places that reflect the people they serve.”

According to a release, to qualify for the Affiliate tier, the Logan Downtown Alliance underwent a rigorous evaluation in coordination with Utah Main Street America and demonstrated strong performance in six key areas: broad-based community commitment, inclusive leadership, diversified funding, strategic programming, preservation-based development, and results-driven outcomes.

The announcement highlights Logan’s efforts to boost its economic vitality while preserving the city’s historic character. Main Street America reports that in 2024 alone, its network programs collectively helped generate $7.65 billion in local reinvestment, created over 33,000 new jobs, and facilitated more than 6,300 new business openings across the country.

The Logan Downtown Alliance is led by Executive Director Gary Saxton and organizes events, promotes local businesses, and advocates for infrastructure and beautification projects.

The Affiliate designation is the second-highest tier offered by Main Street America, behind the more competitive Accredited level.

According to Main Street America, on average, for every dollar that a Main Street program spent to support their operations, $21.73 was reinvested into their downtown and commercial corridor communities.
