LOGAN – Officials in Logan have announced modified schedules for Logan City services and facilities during the upcoming New Year’s Day holiday.

The City Offices will be closed on New Year’s Day (Monday, Jan. 1, 2024).

Residential garbage and recycling will not be collected as usual on New Year’s Day, according to a Logan Public Works spokesperson.

The city landfill will also closed to the public on that day.

The regular Monday garbage routes will be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Residents on those routes are asked to please have their containers at the curb by 7 a.m. and to leave containers out at the curb until they are collected.

The Logan River Golf Course will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 1.

The Logan Library is closed through the end of January while moving into the new library building.

The ice skating rink at Carol and Jim Laub Plaza in downtown Logan will be open for reduced hours on New Year’s Eve (Sunday, Dec. 31).

Skating sessions that day are scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m.; 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The ice skating rink will be closed, however, on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).

The Logan Community Recreation Center and the city’s Cemetery Office will be closed on New Year’s Day.
