LOGAN – City officials in Logan are notifying residents that the Logan Emergency Alert Program has shifted to the Everbridge platform.
News about emergency conditions formerly provided by the city’s Code Red program will now be provided by Everbridge.
In the event of a local emergency, Logan officials will use a variety of resources to communicate important information to residents.
Among these are social media, the city’s website, traditional media and the Emergency Alert Program, now delivered by Everbridge.
Everbridge is a critical event management platform that provides software applications to help organizations manage and respond to critical events. These events can include natural disasters, IT outages or security threats.
Everbridge helps organizations anticipate, mitigate, respond to and recover from these events, ultimately keeping people safe and ensuring business continuity.
In a Facebook post on Aug. 13, City officials advised residents that they can sign up for Everbridge in order to be alerted about emergencies and other important community information by simply clicking on the link below and following the prompts.

Via Everbridge, the Emergency Alert Program will enables Logan officials to provide residents with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, including severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.
Residents will receive time-sensitive messages at locations that they specify — allowing them to notified of emergencies at location of their choice, such as home, work and school.
Residents will also be able to select how they are notified, including by phone, text, email or all three.
City officials say this change to the Everbridge platform will also impact county residents as well.
