LOGAN – The Center Street Art-Beat is coming to Logan from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30.
On that day, Center Street will be closed to normal traffic to allow local merchants and businesses to welcome the community for a festival celebrating local artists and musicians, according to Kayla DeRito, director of The Alley on Center street and one of the many sponsors of that event.
The event will be free to all comers and will feature local bands, artisans, businesses and food trucks, she adds.
The afternoon and evening festival is planned as a benefit to raise funds and awareness for Cache Valley for Hope, a local foundation that emotionally and financially supports Cache Valley residents who are undergoing chemotherapy.
Roughly 55 vendors are scheduled to host booths and food trucks at the Center Street Art-Beat.
Musical performers at the event will include The Last Wild Buffalo, Hatchback, The Moonspinners, the Jarica Jamison Band, Sweet Tangerine, the Jugs, Wednesday, Strawberry Jam, Two-Headed Trout, Grenadine and Xavier Hay with the Beehive Boys.
In addition to The Alley on Center Street, the sponsors of the Center Street Art-Beat will include Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, Lucky Slice Pizza, The Chelsea Funk Realty Group, The Island Market, Cache Bar, Anderson’s Seed and Garden, Cache Valley Bank, Bolt Home Mortgage, the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, Magic Productions, Prodigy Brewery, Wolfords Collision Repair and SprintImage Printing & Graphics.
Additional information about this event can be obtained by calling Chelsea Fund at (435) 512-4608 or Kayla DeRito at (435) 799-5204.
“We’re expecting a strong community turn-out,” DeRito says.
