Monty Brinton/CBSWhile the question of whether we actually need yet another reality competition show remains to be seen, CBS is throwing its hat in the ring with its latest entry into the genre.

The World’s Best will be hosted by James Corden, and feature a judging panel made up of Drew Barrymore, RuPaul Charles and country superstar Faith Hill.  The show is being produced by Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell, who collectively have brought you Survivor, The Voice and American Idol.

The 10-episode series will premiere next year, and it will feature acts of all talents, from all over the world. In addition to impressing the judges, the contestants must also impress the “wall of the world”: 50 experts from around the world, from every field of entertainment, who will also have a say in who advances.  Only one act will, of course, be judged to be The World’s Best.

In a statement, Darnell said, “The very name of the show defined the caliber of judges we sought out and ultimately got. Drew, RuPaul and Faith are incredibly accomplished superstars whose talents encompass every area of entertainment. Along with James, The World’s Best will now be the gold standard of competition shows.”
