LOGAN — A 30-year-old Hyrum man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill another man with a gun multiple times, according to law enforcement. Anthony Lemuel Del-Valle-Morales was booked Tuesday into the Cache County Jail.
Del-Valle-Morales appeared before a judge Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Logan’s 1st District Court, appearing by web conference from jail. He was charged with stalking, a second-degree felony; aggravated assault, a third-degree felony; and obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor.
Cache County Deputy Attorney Griffin Hazard claimed Del-Valle-Morales threatened a couple who were staying at his home on Jan. 29. The alleged victim told Logan City Police officers that the suspect entered their bedroom and placed a gun against his head, threatening to kill him.
The alleged victim claimed they were threatened again the next day, when Del-Valle-Morales showed up at the man’s workplace. He made similar threats and showed a handgun inside his waistband.
Hazard asked the court to hold Del-Valle-Morales in jail without bail. He claimed the suspect also provided police officers with false information when they began questioning him.
Del-Valle-Morales was assigned a public defender to represent him. He spoke briefly through a Spanish interpreter, saying “I have not done anything.”
Judge Brian Cannell ordered Del-Valle-Morales to remain in jail and appear again in court Feb. 12.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
