
Howard Dee “Bud” Richens, born February 15, 1939, in Roosevelt, Utah, passed away on December 6, 2023. Howard was raised in Eden, Utah, and later made his home in Plymouth, Utah. He was a retired electrician, formerly employed in bakery production. Howard was a dedicated Scout Master for many years. Known for his gentle manner, caring nature, and vibrant sense of humor, Howard touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
Howard was an avid gardener, with a love for nature that extended to caring for many house plants and rescuing countless cats. He had a knack for woodworking, skillfully crafting beautiful pieces. The family wants to express their gratitude to the staff at the Gables and also to extend their love to his caregiver and roommate, Alma, for their unwavering support.
Bud was a devoted father to his children, Robert (Karin) Richens and Randee Jo Richens Mueller, and a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dena (Cope) Richens, his brother Cecil Richens, and sister Verdon Smith.
A viewing will be held in honor of Howard “Bud” Richens on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, 84302. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 am.
