Greg Allen passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 27, 2022 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 59. He was born on October 7, 1962, in San Luis Obispo, California, the son of Odis Golden Allen and Betty Sue Newton (Allen). He grew up Manteca, California where he graduated from East Union High School in 1981. Greg enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he served his country for six years spanning from June of 1980 to June of 1986. Greg later relocated to Dos Palos, California in 1999 where he was an active member of the community. He worked for Dos Palos Elementary where he met and married Genevieve Metz in 2002.

He was an amazing cook and shared his talents with the Dos Palos Youth Football program by cooking for the Dos Palos Bobcats every Saturday. He was very involved in Dos Palos athletics through his son; he coached flag football and little league baseball. He didn’t miss a single one of Seth’s football games and he loved to sit in his folding chair that he kept in the bed of his truck and watch his son practice. After leaving the Dos Palos School District Greg worked for Central Valley Behavior Management in Merced, California as a job developer and coach. Throughout his time working he made many lifelong friends and felt blessed by his time to work the special needs and help them find jobs.
