November 11, 1929 ~ December 19, 2022 (age 93)

Glenn Rees Richards “Ba”, 93, was born November 11, 1929, in Brigham City, UT. He passed away peacefully in his home in Brigham City, UT December 19, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was Son to David Rees Richards and Anna Christina Nelson Richards. Glenn was the 6th of 8 children.

Glenn married Darlene Bouck July 16,1980. Together they had one son David (Tiffnee) Richards, with his marriage to Darlene though short Glenn gained so much, He became a father to Darlene’s four children, to this day they all call him dad and that made him so proud. Lisa (Matt) Hoskins, Bob (Amy) Petersen, Holly Smoot and Mindy Spencer (Destin Southern). He loved them all as his own.

He had a very special bond with Mindy and would often talk about the summers they would spend together and how Mindy loved sitting in an apple box watching him garden.

Glenn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 11th ward in Brigham City. He served at the Ogden temple until he was released to be a full-time caregiver to his elderly father.

He served his country in The United States Army in the Korean War.

Glenn, as a young man worked delivering newspapers and saved every penny to buy his mother their family home’s first working freezer in 1943. Glenn also worked as a milkman in the Box Elder area for many years. After returning from Korea Glenn worked at Hill Air Force base. He retired from Hill in 1978. Glenn served on the Box Elder water creek board as water master for more than 25 years.

He loved spending time with his family and had very close relationships with David’s children Brinley Brooke and Bridger. Brinley started his nickname “Ba” when she was little because she couldn’t say Grandpa. He did special things for each of them and truly enjoyed the time they got to spend together.

Glenn spent his free time gardening and took great pride in his beautiful 2-acre garden. He planted and took care of that garden until last year.

He was an avid hunter and passed his love for hunting to his son and grandkids. Together they hunted every year and enjoyed every minute of it. He would often say ” I will hunt until the day I die.” Which he did.

David his son made sure that Glenn got to do what he loved and took him every year including this one.

Glenn is Preceded in death by both his parents and all of his 7 siblings. He is survived by his children and 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that he dearly loved.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Alex from Enhabit Health and the many Hospice nurses that helped to take care of Glenn in his final days.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery,

300 East 300 South, Brigham, UT.

A viewing will be held prior to the service at Myers Mortuary 205 South, 100 East, Brigham City, UT from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.
