LOGAN – Mark your calendars, the opening ceremony for The Light of The World Giving Machine has been set for Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. The opening with its introductions, ribbon cutting and live entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. near the corner of 55 W. Center Street in Logan.

The Bear River Ramblers, a country and blues acoustic music group, will perform live as part of the opening ceremony.  

After the opening ceremony the machines will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Tuesday, Dec. 16, until Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.

This year the Giving Machine Committee has selected five different local qualified nonprofit charities that benefit those in need.

The sixth charity selected by the Giving Machine Committee will be filled with items by preselected non-profits that support global needs.

This year the Giving Machines will be helping the Cache Community Food Pantry, Loaves and Fishes Cache Valley, Cache Valley Hope for Cancer Foundation, Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection, Global Nonprofits United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund or UNICEF and Mentors.

The UNICEF organization works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential. The world-wide nonprofit works with children from early childhood through adolescence.

Last year residents from the Cache Valley area purchased 16,681 items and spent some $275,000 at Giving Machines. It was reported Giving Machines worldwide raised more than $16 million for 450 charities during the 2024 holiday season. 

Last year the money from the vending machines gave a boost to five area nonprofits in Cache Valley. The checks ranged from $40,000 to $70,000 were presented to each of the local non-profit charities.

The Light of The World Giving Machine is annual event is a result of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints inviting the world to celebrate and commemorate the birth and life of Jesus Christ during a season of giving.

Giving Machines offer people an opportunity to help others locally and in  faraway places.
