BOX ELDER COUNTY — Firefighters were called out to a house fire in Garland. The blaze was reported around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The Garland Fire Department reported no one was injured but the home was severely damaged in the fire.

Several area fire departments responded to the blaze. The first crews to arrive on the scene reported the home was “fully involved with heavy smoke billowing from the structure.”

Firefighters reportedly faced “numerous challenges,” remaining at the scene for six hours.

The home sustained extensive damage, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials expressed appreciation to law enforcement, for their crucial role in traffic control, which allowed emergency operations to proceed safely.

The Garland Fire Department, Tremonton Fire Department, Brigham City Fire Department, Box Elder County Fire, Corinne Fire Department, and Central Box Elder Fire Department all assisted.
