SMITHFIELD – Once again, the Four Seasons Theatre Company is soliciting input from its audience members for shows to be part of its 2026 season.
Headed by brothers Jon and Kody Rash, the local theater troupe has posted a survey on Facebook asking, among other questions, what types of musicals are of most interest to their audiences.
The choices are family forward musicals, that is shows from the Disney stable (like The Little Mermaid); classic, golden-age musicals (Oklahoma, Sound of Music); recent contemporary compositions (Jekyll and Hyde, Bright Star); musical comedies (Something Rotten!, Drowsy Chaperone); and mega-musicals (Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera).
The survey also asks Four Seasons fans to rank their favorites from a field of ten possible shows being considered for inclusion in the company’s 2026 season.
“This quick survey is the first step in the process,” the Rash brothers said in a Facebook post accompanying the survey.
“Once we’ve gathered your feedback, the top contenders will go head-to-head in our final show-down,” they promised. “And yes, you’ll get to vote again!”
According to the online survey, the shows under consideration for 2026 are the bluegrass musical Bright Star; the Broadway classics Kiss Me Kate, Brigadoon, She Loves Me and Once Upon a Mattress; the musical dramas Jekyll and Hyde and Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street; the contemporary shows Big Fish and Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief; and the thoroughly over-done The Little Mermaid.
The forward-thinking leaders of the Smithfield company are planning well in advance. Their 2025 season still has the production of the Noel Coward comedy Blythe Spirit coming Aug. 1 to 9, to be followed by the troupe’s traditional Christmas show, which is a revival of A Christmas Story this year on Dec. 4 to 13.
Looking forward to Christmas 2026, however, the Facebook survey also asks Four Seasons fans to pick their favorite holiday show from a list including White Christmas, Miracle of 34th Street, Elf-the Musical; How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
The survey can be found by following The Four Seasons Theatre Company on Facebook or going online to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Patron2026
Voting for the 2026 Four Seasons survey is set to close on Friday, July 11.
The survey also reminds Cache Valley audience members, however, that the rights for popular musicals like Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and other recent titles may not be available to license.
The Four Season Theatre Company performs at Sky View High School at 520 South, 250 East in Smithfield.
