POWER COUNTY, Idaho — A 25-year-old Pocatello man died and a 26-year-old Pocatello man was injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon. The crash was reported at 5:42 p.m. northwest of Pocatello, along East County Road, near US Highway 30.

Idaho State Police report the 25-year-old man was riding a Honda motorcycle and the 26-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle. They were traveling eastbound together when they failed to negotiate a curve, slid into a concrete barrier and were separated from their bikes. The riders and motorcycles came to rest on the right shoulder.

Officers report that both men were wearing helmets.

The 25-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The 26-year-old rider suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and was not transported to a hospital.

Police did not release either rider’s identity, pending notification of family.

East County Road was blocked for approximately two and-a-half hours, while emergency crews cleared the crash scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
