LOGAN — Students and faculty were evacuated from Logan High School for a brief time. The evacuation occurred after a smoke alarm was triggered just before 1 p.m. prompting firefighters to automatically be paged to the school.
In an email to parents, Principal Paul Wagner said after the school’s fire alarms went off, officials began an investigation and determined that there was no fire. The evacuation was concluded safely after.
No injuries or damage were reported.
Wagner said school staff were able to evacuate the building and account for students in under 10 minutes. Officials will continue to investigate what triggered the detector.
The fire alarm occurred while some of the students were in their lunch break.
Wagner said they extended the second lunch period by 10 minutes to ensure that students had adequate time to eat.
