Ellenor Mitchell Garrett passed away peacefully in her home on March 26, 2022. She was born April 18, 1937, in Tremonton, Utah, to Ruby Green and Francis Carlisle Mitchell.

Ellenor was the oldest of 7 children. She grew up in Tremonton, UT, and had many happy days playing on the farm with her aunts and siblings. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1955.

She married Jack Bird Garrett on October 5, 1961. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 3, 1982. They had one daughter, Sherrie.

Ellenor had many different jobs during her lifetime which included working as a waitress when she was young at Tremonton Drug; a teller at First Security Bank; and as a secretary for Mountain Fuel, but her most loved job was as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing to her. She loved spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She was always present at their ballgames, recitals, and programs. She loved planning parties, get-togethers, and reunions and felt that getting extended family together was important so the family could stay close.

Ellenor enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, playing cards, making candy, and cooking. She loved flowers and had a beautiful yard at her home. She was also an immaculate housekeeper doing spring and fall cleaning, whether needed or not. Ellenor enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing with her husband, Jack. They spent lots of time together and enjoyed going in their trailer to Yellowstone and Island Park. Her trailer was fully stocked, and it was known that if something was needed Ellenor had it in her trailer.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sherrie Brown (Kevin); granddaughters and grandsons-in-law: Tiffany Patterson (Matthew), Danielle Wright (Jordan), Sheena Yates (Bryan); and great-grandchildren: Ellie, Lewis, Cannon, Annabelle, Emmeline, William, Charlotte and Eliza. She is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother: Barbara King (Karl), Jolene Nilson, Richard Garrett, and JanaRae Reeder, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, brothers: Graling Garrett and Dale Ballard, and brother-in-law: Eric Nilson. We are sure it was a joyful reunion on the other side.

The family would like to express many thanks to those who cared so well for Ellenor during the last year. Thanks to her granddaughters, her brother Richard, Elise and the many nurses and aides at Aegis Hospice, and Dorothy and Sharlynn from Ali’s Angels. Your kindness and compassionate care are appreciated so much.
