Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
SALT LAKE CITY — Officials with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Elder Jeffrey R. Holland is recuperating at home after previously being hospitalized during a battle with health complications.
In a press release Sunday, church officials stated, “After an extended hospital stay, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is now recuperating at home. Elder Holland and his children are very grateful for the many prayers offered on his behalf during this challenging time of sorrow following the passing of Sister Holland.”
In April, it was announced that Elder Holland would be temporarily excused from his duties at The Church’s general conference after he and his wife, Sister Patricia Holland, tested positive for COVID-19.
According to officials, Elder Holland was also undergoing dialysis for a kidney condition at the time of his interlude.
Sister Holland passed away at age 81 as a result of her medical condition on July 20 following a brief hospitalization.
In August, Elder Holland was hospitalized for observation and treatment of ongoing health complications. The news came days after Sister Holland’s passing.
On Sunday, Church officials said, “As his health improves, he looks forward to resuming activities in his ministry.”
