CACHE COUNTY – With Utah’s revised Election Day for municipal posts just a week away, the Cache County Clerk’s Office is prepared to help any residents who still need assistance to cast their ballots.
Early in-person voting is already underway and will continue until Friday, Nov. 17, according to David Benson, the county’s clerk/auditor.
That voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room (Rm. 109) of the Cache County Administration Building at 179 North Main Street in downtown Logan.
Mail-in ballots were sent to county residents starting on Oct. 31.
Those completed ballots can be returned at the drop box located in the parking lot of the Cache County Administration Building; at similar drop boxes in participating municipalities throughout the county; or via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
To be counted in the municipal elections, ballots returned via the USPS must be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 20.
Logan residents can also return their completed ballots in-person at the City Hall Building during regular business hours. Logan’s city hall is located at 270 North, 100 West.
On Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 21), the county clerk’s staff will operate a Voter Assistance Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.in the Cache County Event Center. The facility will be open in Rooms 2 and 3 of the Event Center at 490 South, 500 West on the county fairgrounds.
The Cache County Clerk’s Office will be closed, however, on Tuesday, Nov. 21 except for activities related to the Municipal General Election.
According to state officials, to be eligible to vote, a voter must be of legal voting age, a citizen of the United States and reside in the city in which they are registered. Voters can verify their registration status at https://vote.utah.gov/.
Registered voters who did not receive a ballot or anyone with questions about their ballot should contact the Cache County Clerk’s Office at www.CacheCounty.org/Elections or call the Cache County Clerk’s Office at 435-755-1460.
For balloting question on Election Day, county residents should go the Cache County Voting Assistance Center. Valid voter identification will be required to be presented at the Voting Assistance Center.
Municipal elections throughout Utah were originally slated to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
To accommodate a special election in Utah’s 2nd Congressional District to replace outgoing U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart, however, lawmakers voted during a special session of the Legislature to delay that balloting by two weeks.
