LOGAN — A Cache County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a traffic accident while trying to respond to another emergency Friday afternoon. The crash occurred at 3:50 p.m. near 400 E. 400 North in Logan.

The deputy was driving eastbound on 400 North and had his lights and sirens on, according to Logan City Police Lt. Derek Dickey. Witnesses said the deputy’s truck was travelling about 45 mph.

At 400 East, a southbound car attempted to cross 400 North in front of the deputy. In an effort to try and avoid a collision, the deputy swerved to avoid the southbound car, but struck another vehicle, parked along the road.

Dickey said, the deputy sustained a broken arm. He was treated by paramedics and transported to Logan Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no other injuries reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Logan City Police Department.
