LOGAN – Peter Crosby, a Democratic candidate for Congress, will host a town hall meeting at the Logan Library on Monday, June 8.
Local residents are invited to that event beginning at 7 p.m.
A resident of Providence, Crosby will face off in the November mid-term election against the Republican victor who emerges from the June 23 primary, either incumbent U.S. Rep. Blake Moore or challenger state Rep. Karianne Lisonbee.
Crosby says that he is running to represent Utah’s 2nd Congressional District with “ … integrity, straight answers and a focus on what matters here – housing, honest government and strong communities.”
In recent weeks, Crosby has been heavily involved in opposing the Stratos Project in neighboring Box Elder County. He spoke to the crowd of some 600 data center protestors who gathered in Tremonton on May 4 to confront county commissioners and has been present at similar events since then.
With an early career background in analytics and operations for a Fortune 500 company, the Democratic candidate left the private sector to work for Utah State University in institutional research.
While employed at USU, Crosby taught adjunct undergraduate courses in American politics and institutions.
While currently back in the private sector as a director, project manager and consultant for a research company that supports higher education, Crosby maintains his relationship with USU as adjunct instructor in the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence there, teaching a graduate course on emerging technology.
In his current role, Crosby works with higher ed presidents, provosts, faculty and support staff to help them navigate what has become a very unpredictable future.
