1951 – 1924

David Kay Johnson, 72, beloved husband, father and grandfather was born on May, 27. 1951 in Salt Lake City Utah to Kay Delore Johnson and Myra Bee Gough. Dave was the second of eight children. Dave’s family moved around some when he was a child living in Montana, Wyoming and Salt Lake City. When he was nineteen years old his family moved to Hyrum, Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many callings and responsibilities. Dave served an LDS mission in the New York City, New York mission and had many wonderful experiences there. After his mission Dave met and married Katherine Colbert in 1973 and the two of them had three children, Rebecca, Jeri, and Scott. Dave and Katie were later divorced. After several years he met and married the love of his life, Susan Fuller. Susie and Dave were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos temple and were very happy together. Dave and Susie moved to Santaquin, Utah where David lived the remainder of his life.

David was an avid gardener and loved to grow and preserve his own food. He was a good cook and loved to make food the center of celebrations. He also loved to have and care for animals and at one time had hundreds of rabbits, chickens, turkeys and pigs. Dave had a very fun sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He had a wonderful singing voice and it was very common to hear him sing as he was doing his everyday activities. He loved being with his family. Before his health deteriorated he loved to be outside and go camping, hunting, fishing and most outdoor activities.

Dave is preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother James Johnson and Sister Betty Jean Johnson, Brother in law Duane Jensen, Susan’s son Tim Fuller and his beloved oldest daughter Rebecca Johnson Armstrong.

He is survived by wife Susan, Children: Jeri (Rob) DeSisto, Scott (Tricia) Johnson, and son in law Adam Armstrong. Along with Susan’s children: Lara (Jeff) Woodland, Ben Fuller, Chet (Sarah) Fuller, and Sarah (Kyle) Kempton. Brothers and sisters: Ruth Jensen, Janice (Mike) Mikklesen, Tim (Robyn) Johnson, Wesley (Margaret) Johnson, and Maryann Montour (Randy) Kontz. David also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and one new Jingleson grandpuppy.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday March 16th at 3:00 PM in the Hyrum Stake Center at 245 Apple Drive Hyrum, Utah.
