CACHE COUNTY  – With ballots now in the mail on their way to Cache County’s more than 70,000 registered voters, the long-awaited 2024 general election has finally begun.

But Oct. 15 is only the first of a number of important dates that local residents should be aware of between now and the election on Tuesday, Nov. 5, according to Cache County Clerk Bryson Behm.

Voters can begin returning their ballots at any of the 20 dropbox locations scattered throughout Cache County as early as Oct. 15.

The location of those dropboxes can be found by going online to https://www.cachecounty.gov/elections/ballotdropofflocations.html

A full list of those locations can also be found at the close of this article.

Voter registration for the general election will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.

Early in-person voting will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and run through 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1. That balloting will be held only in the Multipurpose Room (Rm. 109) of the Cache County Administrative Building at 179 North Main Street in Logan.

All mail-in ballots being returned via the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked not later than Monday, Nov. 4.

All mail-in ballots being returned via Cache County dropboxes must be deposited not later than 8 p.m. on Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 5).

The Cache County polls for in-person voting on Election Day will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., only at the Cache County Event Center at the fairgrounds at 490 South, 500 West in Logan.

The locations of those 20 ballot drop boxes include both inside Suite 102 of the Cache County Administration Building and in the west parking lot outside at 179 North Main Street in Logan; in the parking lot of the Amalga Town Hall at 6590 North, 2400 West; at the New Clarkston Town Hall at 50 South Main Street; inside the Cornish Town Hall at 4788 West, 14300 North; at the Hyde Park City Office at 113 East Center Street; in the parking lot of the Hyrum City Office at 60 West Main Street; outside the Lewiston City Office at 1214 Warner Street; near the east side of the Utah State University Welcome Center on 700 North Street on the USU campus; in the parking lot of the Mendon City Office at 15 North Main Street; on the north side of the Millville Post Office Building at 70 West, 200 North; on the north side of the Newton City Office at 51 South Center Street; in the parking lot on the west side of the Nibley City Office at 455 West, 3200 South; in the parking lot of the North Logan Library at 475 East, 2500 North; inside the Paradise Town Hall at 9035 South, 100 West; in the parking lot of the Providence City Office at 164 North Gateway Drive; in the parking lot at Richmond Park Community Center at 90 South, 100 West; in the parking lot of the River Heights City Office at 520 South, 500 East; in the parking lot of the Smithfield City Office at 96 South Main Street; inside the Trenton Town Hall at 17 East Main Street; and outside the Wellsville City Office at 75 East Main Street.

All of those drop sites are accessible 24 hours per day starting on Oct. 15 except inside the Cache County Clerk’s Office, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; in the Cornish Town Hall by appointment only; in the Hyde Park City Offices from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; in the Paradise Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and the Trenton Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.
