LOGAN — After five years of celebrating local favorites, the Best of Northern Utah contest has reached a milestone, with the 2025 edition breaking records for participation and community engagement.

Presented by Alpine Cleaning and Restoration, this year’s contest drew more than 924,000 votes and saw 1,681 businesses nominated across dozens of categories, culminating in 287 winners. Results are officially unveiled Wednesday, June 25 at 12 noon with the release of the 2025 Winner’s Magazine and an update to the BestOfNorthernUtah.com website.

Gold and Silver winners are invited to attend a celebratory open house at the newly-remodeled studios at the Cache Valley Media Group where they are treated to free food, photo booth, recording studio, games and more.

Kent Frandsen, President and CEO of Cache Valley Media Group, which organizes the annual contest, said the event is about spotlighting the people who keep the region running.

“Local businesses are the heartbeat of our community, and they often don’t get recognition they deserve,” Frandsen said. “The Best of Northern Utah contest gives the community the opportunity to celebrate those businesses and employees who regularly go about their day taking care of customers and providing amazing service.”

To ensure fairness and credibility, Cache Valley Media Group partners with Elite Insights, an independent third-party administrator that operates Best Of competitions for hundreds of media groups nationwide. Elite Insights manages nomination and voting processes, monitors for irregularities, and independently tabulates all results.

Importantly, the Best of Northern Utah is not a pay-to-play contest. Participation is free, and the majority of winners did not spend any money to promote themselves during the competition. Voting is driven by public support—not advertising dollars—making each win a genuine reflection of community enthusiasm.

“This was our biggest year yet,” Frandsen added. “The community really showed up to support the businesses and organizations that make Northern Utah special.”
