It’s a beautiful, terrible day.

It is with great sadness that we, her family announce the passing of Carla Donn (Fikstad) Larsen Buchi, age 70, of Tremonton, Utah at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton, Utah on February 24, 2024; of causes incident to a two-week war with a very aggressive form of cancer.

Carla has been an amazing wife, sister, aunt, and friend to so many.

She was born in Ashton, Idaho on October 24, 1953, to Doris Jean Hendricks and Duane Fikstad. She was the older sister to siblings Denny, Treena and Tami.

After high school, she moved to Boise, Idaho where she met and married Larry Larsen on October 13, 1978, in Reno, Nevada. They later divorced. After making her way to live near family in Tremonton, she was led to meet and marry Paul Buchi at their family home in Tremonton on the 1st day of summer; June 21, 2021. They enjoyed a wonderful and very short time together.

Carla is survived by her husband, Paul, and his family, as well as her sisters Treena (John) Pitcher of Nibley, Utah and Tamara (James) Owen of Albion, Idaho, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Denny.

She was a lifelong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had powerful faith and trust in her Savior Jesus Christ. She knows He will deliver her.

Carla loved life, with such a beautiful smile and infectious laugh; she would light up a room just by walking in. She loved being around, having fun and joking with her extended family. She taught us by example to take joy in the little things in life, as she especially loved being outside with and talking to her flowers, birds and even the bugs in her yard. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, including the rescue cats she cared for over the years, especially Ivory.

Her last words of advice she would give to all she loves is “Get your colonoscopy!”

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at McKay Dee and Bear River Valley Hospital for their compassionate and kind care of Carla during her last two weeks of life. There are angels among us.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 6-7 P.M. at Rudd Funeral Home-Tremonton (111 N 100 E, Tremonton).

An indoor Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 1 P.M. also at Rudd Funeral Home-Tremonton (111 N 100 E, Tremonton).

In lieu of flowers, please consider encouraging someone you love to “Get a colonoscopy” on behalf of Carla.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home.
