RICHMOND – In a move to bolster community welfare, Campbell Soup Company and The Campbell’s Foundation recently allocated $880,000 in Community Impact Grants to 44 nonprofit organizations, including a $20,000 grant designated for the Cache Community Food Pantry. The initiative aims to uplift neighborhoods where Campbell operates, emphasizing increased food accessibility and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Campbell’s operates a facility in Richmond and is currently expanding.

“The Campbell’s Foundation Community Impact Grants program,” remarked Kate Barrett, President of The Campbell’s Foundation, “empowers our employees to give back and support organizations making a meaningful impact in the communities we call home.”

The grant allocation process begins with Campbell employees nominating local organizations for consideration. From the numerous submissions, the Foundation’s employee-led Executive Committee reviews applications before presenting them for final approval by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The grants extend support to various programs, encompassing food pantries, farmers’ markets, nutrition education, food waste reduction initiatives, physical activity programs, and the enhancement of public spaces.

The Cache Community Food Pantry joins a list of recipients across 30 Campbell communities spanning 16 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. The grant will bolster the pantry’s programming and operations, aligning with Campbell’s mission to foster community well-being.

Campbell’s Foundation’s focus on enhancing healthy food access, promoting active living, and nurturing neighborhoods since the early 1950s underscores their dedication to social responsibility.
