LOGAN-On Thursday August 8, Todd Beutler Cache Valley Transit District CEO and Patrick Jenkins Board Chair introduced a name change for the bus service at the Intermodal Transit Center.

They are rebranding their long-time name of CVTD to Connect.

“The new name better reflects our role in the community and the role we play in connecting riders to work, school, play,” he said. “We are continuing to change routes to meet the need of the growing community.”

The changed routes 6, 7 and 8 to meet the needs of passengers in a growing Cache Valley.

“We have a route that will take people to Zootah and another one that goes to the Meadows at Homestead,” Beutler said. “We have been waiting on roads to be completed to go to new areas.”

Free transportation can spark economic growth and revitalize communities, he said.

“We are no longer a small community,” he said. “We are a growing medium-sized city.”

CVTD had been taking citizens to and from different locations for over 30 years and has increased participation in both Utah and Idaho.

The transportation company has seen significant growth in the last several years mirroring the population growth in the valley.

This growth led CVTD to improvise and introduce dozens of new routes, new service lines, innovations in public transit, to keep zero-fare services. They have also forged partnerships with numerous community groups and organizations.

The evolution within the organization led to the long-term communications strategies that included the rebranding CVTD to Connect.

The new ‘Connect’ branding will help better position public transit in the community as the best transportation solution to connect people to the people and places that matter most.

In its 32nd year of service in Utah and Idaho, CVTD has provided almost 44 million trips in Cache Valley and the surrounding area. As Utah’s first zero-fare service, CVTD has helped thousands of residents stay connected to the people and places that matter most to them.
