ONEIDA COUNTY, Idaho — Firefighters have achieved 100 percent containment on the Buckboard Fire, which burned 1,695 acres near the Idaho-Utah border. Officials announced Thursday evening that the blaze is now fully contained.

According to the Idaho Bureau of Land Management, the wildfire, located about 10 miles southwest of Malad, ignited Tuesday evening. Crews had previously reached 75 percent containment by Wednesday night. Difficult terrain and gusty winds had complicated initial suppression efforts.

Multiple agencies, including Idaho Falls BLM, the U.S. Forest Service, and local fire departments, contributed to the firefighting efforts. No evacuations were ordered, and no structures were threatened by the naturally caused fire.
