BOX ELDER COUNTY — Law enforcement have released the identity of a man who was found deceased Friday morning near Corinne.
According to a press release, at approximately 08:35 a.m. May 9, the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, Corinne Fire Department, and Brigham City EMS were dispatched to Stinking Springs, on report of a deceased man located in the water.
Upon arrival, responding units found a male, later identified as Eusevio Leyva, 69, of Brigham City, deceased. Detectives from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner responded.
The sheriff’s office said their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Leyva’s death is ongoing. No further information is available for release at this time.
Stinking Springs are geothermally heated natural springs, located at approximately 9200 W Hwy 83. The source of the “stink” is pungent hydrogen sulfide gas that emerges with the water.
