BOX ELDER COUNTY — Multiple fire departments responded to a barn fire Wednesday morning north of Bothwell.
The Garland Fire Department said they responded to Chanshare Sod Farm at 10 a.m. on Aug. 14 after 911 dispatch operators received reports of a hay barn fire threatening a nearby structure.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including five firetrucks and 20 firefighters.
Emergency operations forced the closure of a section of 12800 North.
It took firefighters approximately four hours to fight the fire.
Authorities were ultimately able to remove the burning hay from the barn. Farmers then used tractors to spread out the hay and suppress the flames.
Crews warned the public that there will be residual smoke in the area for several days, as they are letting the blaze burn out on its own.
Nobody was injured during this incident.
The cause of the fire and damage amount remains under investigation.
