The day was set up to provide visitors with an opportunity to interact with company experts and show the cutting-edge technology they have deployed globally.

Some 300 people were expected to be there with opportunities not only to see what technology ASI was using but gave families a chance to try out some remote projects.

There were tech demos, career panels, raffle drawings, networking opportunities, refreshments, and tours of the ASI headquarters.

Olga Rembi, a recruiting specialist for the company, was handing out little paper maps of the activities and explaining how to use them.

Inside the shop where equipment is built and fitted with autonomous guidance systems people were showing guests how things worked.

Ten-year-old Benji Westwood came to Community Day with his parents Kevin and Sandra Westwood and operated a robotic arm on the back of a large truck for his parents to see. He held a large remote pad and directed the robot arm to pick up small packets of candy.

Andrew Torrie was excited to show how a pickup truck was fitted so it could be programed to drive without anyone aboard.

“I’m a durability tester,” he said when he showed how the system worked. “This is the part that makes the truck shift into other gears and this piece on the steering wheel guides the truck to where it is supposed to go.”

Outside of the shop huge industrial vehicles used for mining, construction and agricultural use were on display. They also had some construction equipment displayed.

ASI is an industrial vehicle automation specialist and developer of the Mobius autonomous fleet management system. They have a location in Ft. Worth, TX and recently opened another location in Lehi.

“We have about 300 total employees in our three locations,” said Human Resource Director Daylynn Godfrey. “We have just over 200 employees in our Mendon facility, less than 20 in Lehi and another 60 plus in our Ft. Worth facility.”

Community Day provided an opportunity to interact with and be inspired by cutting-edge technology being deployed globally.

ASI is not standing still, they are a growing force in autonomous technology.

“Since this time last year, ASI staff is two times greater than in 2024, and we are not slowing down.” Mel Torrie, ASI CEO, said. “There’s a full-court press to hire the best and brightest to support ASI’s drive to overcome customer challenges with autonomy and robotics.”

ASI is working to solve efficiency and safety issues, like the dwindling labor supply facing industries in the areas of heavy construction, agriculture, logistics, landscaping, and more.

“Agriculture, and landscaping, with scalable, OEM-agnostic offroad vehicle solutions. With an ever-growing ASI team, this ‘people-building robot company’ brings 25 years of expertise focused on a future where people and machines work smarter together,” Torrie said. “As industries worldwide face a growing shortage of skilled machine operators, ASI’s solutions are helping companies maximize productivity, reduce costs, and reallocate human talent to higher-value roles.”

“From day one, 25 years ago, ASI developed on a platform approach where we could leverage that technology and rapidly automate additional vehicles”, Torrie said. “That’s why we’ve been able to do over 100 different vehicle models in a very affordable way.”

The Community Day celebration offered cookies and water bottles and other swag to give attendees.
