LOGAN — Law enforcement and family members have identified the two people who died in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning north of Clarkston. Jace Tanner Dunn, 29, and Rose Reed, 24, were both found deceased after reportedly being thrown from the SUV they were travelling in.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi said deputies were called to the scene at 14200 Stink Creek Road, near the Logan City Landfill, just after 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had crashed and Dunn and Reed, both of whom had been ejected.
Bartschi said investigators believe several factors contributed to the fatal crash, including excessive speed and the failure to use seatbelts.
Deputies also reportedly found multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.
Family members and friends wrote on social media how Dunn had “big heart and bright soul.” They also noted how he was always there for birthdays, sporting events and just because.
Others remembered Reed as a beautiful young mother who was taken far too soon, leaving behind a young daughter. They noted how she was a dear friend, who could always brighten someone’s day.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to the families of those involved in this tragic incident,” said Bartschi. “We want to remind everyone in our community to drive safely, wear your seatbelt, and never drink and drive. A moment of poor judgment can have devastating and irreversible consequences.”
