Representatives of Adams Wealth Advisors present the Cache Community Food Pantry with a check of $15,000 to help local families with food insecurity.
LOGAN – One local company came together to help with a big donation to the Cache Community Food Pantry at the end of the year. Inflation on consumer goods, including food, has created a real burden for some people struggling to feed their family and that is what prompted Adams Wealth Advisors to make a $15,000 donation to the pantry in December.
“Over the last 12 months, consumer prices have increased by an average of 9.1%, and in many areas, above 13%,” says Lindsey Myers, a representative of Adams Wealth Advisors. “In 2023, food prices are predicted to rise an additional 3 to 4%. This has been the largest increase in grocery prices in over 40 years.
“This rise in inflation has had a profound impact on our local community. With rising prices, many are unable to afford necessities and turn to the local food pantries for help.”
The financial planning firm donated the money on Christmas day. Myers says the donation was made on behalf of clients and in their names. The money that normally goes to clients for year-end gifts was repurposed and donated it to the food pantry.
Representatives from the firm visited the pantry and presented pantry director Matt Whittaker with a ceremonial check.
