LOGAN — A 32-year-old Logan man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl. Allen M. Allred was booked Monday afternoon into the Cache County Jail after allegedly telling law enforcement that he was attracted to children.

According to the arrest report, the Logan City Police Department were notified of the child sexual abuse claims by agents with the Utah Division of Child and Family Services. Allred allegedly molested the alleged victim on several occasions over the past year.

Police interviewed Allred on Monday. During their questioning, he allegedly admitted to sexually abusing the child at various times, describing at least 10 separate incidents, according to the report.

The crimes are suspected to have occurred during the past 10 months.

Allen reportedly told officers that he has been sexually attracted to children ages 7 and up since he was an adolescent. He also admitted to viewing child pornography on a regular basis, the report stated.

According to jail records, Allred was booked on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust, a first-degree felony. He is being held, pending arraignment in court on formal charges.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
