POCATELLO, Idaho — Five children were hospitalized Thursday after being struck during a two-vehicle collision while waiting to cross a street in Pocatello.
The crash occurred just before noon at the intersection of Barton Road and South Fourth Avenue. According to the Pocatello Police Department, two vehicles collided within the intersection and subsequently struck the children, who were standing on a nearby corner.
Emergency medical personnel transported all five children to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. Police said none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Both drivers involved in the collision were evaluated at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information to contact the Pocatello Police Department at 208-234-6100.
