BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Commerce-Tourism Development is accepting applications for the 2026 Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grant Program.
Applications must be submitted through the department’s online grant portal by 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time on March 30.
Created in 1981, the grant program is funded through a 2% tax on sales from hotels, motels, private campgrounds and vacation rental accommodations across the state.
The Idaho Travel Council oversees the program, distributing funds to nonprofit, incorporated organizations that operate viable travel or convention promotion programs. Preference is given to initiatives that primarily promote overnight visitation in Idaho.
According to the department, the council’s goals include supporting meaningful programs that promote Idaho’s scenic attractions and tourism assets, demonstrating return on investment through reporting that validates marketing spending, and leveraging cooperative marketing opportunities to expand market reach.
The council also prioritizes collaboration among partners to align strategies and maintain consistent messaging, as well as media opportunities capable of targeting broader or niche audiences.
Full eligibility guidelines, the ITC Grant Handbook, a detailed application schedule and an application preview are available at commerce.idaho.gov/tourism-resources/itc-grant-program.
Questions about the program or access to the grant portal can be directed to grants@commerce.idaho.gov.
Visit Idaho, the state’s tourism marketing arm, works to promote Idaho’s outdoor recreation, western culture and history. Tourism is Idaho’s third-largest industry, and Visit Idaho aims to grow the state’s economy through targeted promotional efforts.
